Dance Gallery’s Mission
Dance Gallery offers a safe, educational and encouraging environment where students from young children to adults can develop a strong background in dance, improve posture, flexibility coordination, as well as strengthen their self-confidence. Our experienced instructors strive to provide quality technical training, foster creative expression, and share with our students our knowledge, appreciation and love for the art of dance.
Classes Offered in three Sessions throughout the year Fall, Winter, Spring. Summer Dance Camps are also available.
- Creative Movement
For 2 year olds, an introductory to music and movement.
For 3 and 4 year olds a more structured class focusing on preparing students for their future in dance.
A life-long love for the art of dance can begin at an early age. Dance Gallery’s innovative Creative Movement classes provide a fun and nurturing environment for children as young as two years old to discover rhythm and movement in an active and educational way that will form the bases for future instruction in dance. For 2-year olds, this unique class serves as first introduction to artistic movement and dance as our instructors encourage youngsters to express themselves creatively to music.
- Tiny Tap
For 5 and 6 year olds learning the beginning steps of tap dancing.
For 5 and 6 year olds who are going to focus on the basic steps of ballet.
Offered at levels I, II, III, and IV.
A form of ballet where students wear particular shoes to start dancing on their toes.
Offered at levels I, II, III and IV.
Where 7-12 year olds learn a variety of dance styles to move with the rhythm of hip-hop.
Offered at levels I and II.
- Dance Gallery Gifted Program.
A special class designed for the serious student who has a desire and ability to continue their dance education. The class is offered free to students and available by teacher recommendations only.
Teens & Adults:
Offered at beginning, intermediate and advanced levels.
- Ballroom Dancing
Group lessons that include introduction of the rumba, jitterbug, swing, hustle, cha cha, mambo, merengue, tango, foxtrot and waltz. Private lessons also available to schedule with instructor.
- Hip Hop
Teens and adults learn a variety of dance styles and perform routines to popular hip hop music.
Offered at beginning and intermediate/advanced levels.
Lyrical Class teaches students how to tell a story through physical dance movements. The class combines various dance styles, such as ballet, jazz and modern dance.
Students practice different styles and techniques focused on particular movements and balance.
Using their strength, students learn an important step of ballet, how to properly stand on their toes wearing their pointe shoes.
Teaches students footwork and how to create rhythm using feet and coordination.
Students learn exercises that will help strengthen their bodies and be able to improve their movement for dance.
- Musical Theatre (Ages 10+)
Musical Theatre is a unique class that offers all of the elements of musical theatre style training – singing, dancing and acting. Each student and the class as a whole will work on dance choreography (musical theatre style) and vocal training, as well as acting skills and improv games and exercises. There will be a final workshop culmination performance for friends and family at the end of the 2013 6-week summer session. Performances will be on volunteer basis and group support. No dance or theatre experience necessary, just bring your enthusiasm and fun attitude.
- Ballroom Dance Classes
For adults wanting to learn, brush up on their skills or practice ballroom dancing for an upcoming event, such as a wedding or anniversary, Dance Gallery offers instruction in a wide range of dances, such as salsa, swing, tango, foxtrot and waltz. These classes are offered by specific request for private lessons or for larger classes when there is expressed interest.
